headed out of town for a few days. will post pictures if i come across anything interesting.due to the advent of a photo shoot (where someone actually intended to make prints of the pictures i shot), i had to reinstall the os on zero (my dual-opteron system). i took a long time to switch from devfs to udev, and when it happened, not quite everything stayed pretty (specifically, bibblepro [my primary photo-editing software] stopped working). i managed to tolerate this for a while, but given that someone was actually going to do something with some of my pictures again (which, incidentally, did not actually happen), it was time. for the most part, the reinstall went quite smoothly.
there was a caveat. fluxbox seems to have a broken ebuild for the amd64 profile, precipitating a switch back to trusty enlightenment. no ebuild for .17 yet, but i was rather surprised to find out how much i liked it, again (i've been an off-and-on E user for like 6 years now). being able to have a 2d-array of desktops, as well as much prettier borders/shading/etc.. was somewhat refreshing. sadly, it doesn't quite have the functionality/ease-of-use i'd become accustomed to in flux - setting keybindings isn't as convenient, and some of the theme options are a little less obvious, but overall, i'm happy with it, and might stay even if they do fix the flux ebuild.
to my knowledge, no one else has actually found this blog yet, so if it's not too much trouble, leave a comment to ping me. otherwise, i'll harass jonny into posting some sort of exit notice wherever that previous blog existed...
